Although special education is a recent career for Celeste Greco, she is no stranger to advocating for minority and underserved populations. For over 10 years, she was a media consultant in the Bay Area, utilizing her writing, photography and video skills to advance the causes of nonprofit agencies. Celeste received an MA from SFSU and an education specialist credential from Sonoma State. Her love of fine literature and world cultures makes her a good fit for the International High School, where she helps learning disabled and other students with their class assignments.Celeste Greco

Religion has been one of my personal passions and interests throughout life and I consider it my utmost privilege to be able to teach a subject as fascinating, important and relevant as world religion. I believe that a thorough understanding of our world's religions is absolutely vital to understanding both the development of history and our world today. Although this course is only a semester long, I consider it a cornerstone in the development of knowledge, critical thinking and empathy that will enable students to become mature and informed scholars, able to understand, interact and influence their world and generation. I grew up in Fresno, CA and did my undergraduate work in Philosophy at UC Berkeley. Graduating in 2003, I originally intended on pursuing a career in law, but this plan was cut short after I caught a vision for public education. I haven't looked back since, and though I sometimes wonder during those weeks when I hit 60+ non-billable hours whether it's all worth it (law joke), I haven't regretted my decision for a minute! I consider it the greatest privilege to be able to work with the future of our generation each day and I love it! I am currently working on a Masters in education at UC Berkeley and in my free time, I enjoy reading a good book over a hot espresso, hiking, jogging, snowboarding, playing sports and spending quality time with friends.Jeff Liu
